We would like to welcome all of you to a new semester in this lovely city and your new home for the next months. In this article we will try to give you some important information concerning your stay in Basel. And if there are any further questions don’t hesitate to send us an email (esn@stud.unibas.ch) or contact us in other ways which will be explained below.
One of the most important things to organize in the beginning is your place to stay. We collected some information and links here. Please keep in mind that unfortunately we can’t help you further with your search for accomodation, there is no center or bureau in Basel that organizes accomodation for exchange students and interns.
You should address all your questions concerning your studies (exams, ECTS, etc.) to the Mobility Office of the university. Mr Zimmermann and Mrs Delpho will be glad to help you! (Email: mobility@unibas.ch).
In the first week of the semester, we will have some events that you should definitely join. We will provide you with important information about your stay, you will get the chance to get to know Basel and other exchange students. During the semester there will be plenty of events and trips for you to join. They are always lots of fun and a great opportunity to get in touch with other people! The events and Trips will always be published on this homepage („Events“-section), you will also get informed via email (you can sign up for our mailing list here), you can join our facebook-group or become a friend on facebook. In order to keep updated it’s also useful to subscribe to one of the rss-feeds on the bottom of this page.
Of course you can join all of our events but there are some rules we ask you to follow. One the one hand there are get-togethers like the weekly drink or the end-party where you normally can just drop by or join without signing up. On the other hand there are trips and events e.g. city trips and other activities that need a lot of organisation on our part. That’s why you need to sign up (explained here) and stick to deadlines.
